Sales Account Manager
Summary/Objective
The Account Manager, reporting to the Strategic Account Executive, plays a crucial role in nurturing strong relationships with existing clients while collaborating with Sycamore’s sales and operations teams. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, responding to client inquiries in a timely manner, and aligning client needs with Sycamore services. The Account Manager will also generate persuasive communications to procure equipment from current and past customers, deliver accurate and timely proposals, and ensure successful project management from initiation to completion.
In addition, the Account Manager will maintain industry knowledge and adhere to Sycamore’s data security standards, ensuring all client interactions and project statuses are accurately recorded using internal tracking tools such as HubSpot. This full-time role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Duties
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Support
- Under the direction of the Strategic Account Executive and working closely with Sycamore sales and operations teams, nurture strong relationships with existing clients, serving as a key contact for inquiries and ensuring exceptional customer service
- Field client requests and respond in a timely manner; communicate with customers to understand their needs and match to Sycamore services
Procurement and Revenue Generation
- Generate persuasive emails, phone calls and in-person visits to current, and past customers and future prospects to procure equipment and sell Sycamore services
- Communicate offers and project proposals to clients for their secondary hardware
- Respond to requests from current clients with accurate and timely proposals
Project Management
- Manage the project delivery, including generating accurate and compelling proposals using Sycamore templates and processes; coordinate logistics for removals; generate accurate and timely post-project reports; generally ensure each deal is a success for the client and the company
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and project status using internal tracking tools, including HubSpot.
Industry Knowledge & Data Security
- Stay informed about industry trends, equipment pricing, and best practices, aligning with our company's values of sustainability and customer value
- Maintain knowledge of Sycamore data security standards; actively pursue these standards and communicate them to clients
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, lift up to 25 lbs., and walk around the facility to perform their basic job functions
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position that will require working longer hours or communicating while off site. Office hours are 9:00am to 5:15pm Monday through Friday, five days per week. “After Hours” phone calls and emails will be expected as needed, depending on current projects and company objectives.
TRAVEL
Travel will be frequent, with a combination of client visits and networking events. Some overnight travel may be expected to attend conferences.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED)
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in business administration, marketing, international business, management information systems, information technology, accounting, entrepreneurship or a related field is required
- Experience using computers personally or professionally in daily setting, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- 2 Years in Sales
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)
- Experience in the daily use of computers and a familiarity with consumer technology is preferred
- 2 years’ experience in sales or customer service
- Skilled with simple quantitative analysis to enable accurate pricing proposals and calculating per-project costs and revenues
