We are looking for an experienced, energetic dental assistant to help us build our patient base by giving children a pleasant and fun experience. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic to provide excellent customer service and to work for the good of the team to keep the office organized and running efficiently. This is a long-term position for someone who wants to be an integral part in helping build a start-up practice and grow with the office. Office uses Dentrix Ascend. Dual training in dental reception a plus!
Responsibilities
· Seat patients in operatories and prepare them for dental treatment
· Set up instruments, equipment and materials needed for treatment
· Take any necessary radiographs
· Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
· Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
· Disinfect treatment room after procedure
· Sterilize instruments according to regulations
· Keep operatories clean and well-stocked
· Maintain accurate patient records and charge out procedures
· Occasional reception duties – booking patients, answering phone calls and collecting payments (can be trained on the job if no previous experience in this area)
Skills
· 2 years experience as dental assistant preferred
· X-ray license necessary
· N2O Certification preferred but not necessary
· Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
· Excellent communication skills
· Good computer skills
· Well-organized
· Punctual and reliable
· Willingness to learn
