The Application Analyst is responsible for administering, configuring, optimizing, and supporting assigned business applications to ensure seamless operation while fulfilling the needs of the business. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving application issues, while developing small code corrections and enhancements to existing applications as necessary. The ideal candidate will have prior work experience with ProShip, Cloud Inventory (formerly DSI), and Cleo EDI applications; while also possessing knowledge in programming/developing code (Java, C , C#, .NET) and prior work experience in a manufacturing plant or distribution center.
Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate solutions for business applications including ProShip, Cloud Inventory (formerly DSI), Cleo Clarify, Cleo VLTrader, Cleo VLProxy, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher, Arena PLM, and SmarterCommerce.
- Ensure compatibility and stability across the various platforms and systems by working with each application provider to ensure the business remains current with product development roadmaps.
- Maintain an open channel for feedback between both internal users and external customers, such as Business Process Owners (BPO) and Subject Matter Experts (SME), to identify actionable opportunities to enhance business applications.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams, other internal departments, and third-party vendors to ensure successful project delivery pertaining to both the enhancement of existing applications and implementation of new applications.
- Oversee data migration, integration, and management for the business applications; while ensuring data security, integrity, and availability.
- Collaborate with the IT Endpoint Configuration & Security Analyst to ensure applications adhere to security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee regularly scheduled applications maintenance, in coordination with the IT Systems Administrator.
- Develop, test, and deploy new code or configuration changes in a non-production environment before delivering the final solution to a production environment.
- Provide technical support to end-user requests by troubleshooting and resolving application issues or escalating as necessary.
- Develop modifications for existing systems to enhance functionality and/or performance.
- Coordinate testing and implementation for software patches and upgrades.
- Monitor application performance and maximize application uptime.
- Create and maintain documentation related to application configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Implement and monitor security measures within the business applications.
- Create training sessions and materials to aid users in effectively utilizing the business applications.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management of Information Systems (MIS) highly preferred.
- 3 years of experience in a similar application support role within a distribution center and/or the manufacturing industry required.
- Strong knowledge in programming languages / developing code (Java, C , C#, .NET, Python, XML, VB.NET, VBScript, SQL) required.
- Experience with various EDI transaction types and translating data between JD Edwards and EDI standard formats required.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office required.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and ability to interact with various stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to translate business needs into actionable solutions required.
- Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills to diagnose and solve application issues.
- Ability to effectively manage small project resources, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ability to maintain system stability and optimize user experience.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
