Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, sanitation systems and commercial structures
Job Duties And Responsibilities:

- Keeps plumbing systems maintained and operational by routinely inspecting kitchen and restroom plumbing systems, repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and fixtures, performing preventative maintenance services on water heaters and drainage systems, and identifying and correcting defective or damaged plumbing.
- Maintains and organizes parts inventory by receiving and labeling ordered parts and fixtures, placing parts and fixtures on designated shelves, logging and accounting for parts and fixtures received and used, analyzing logs to determine frequency of use and need for replacement, and keeping track of owner’s manuals, warranty expiration dates and service bulletins.
- Maintains a safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage area, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools and equipment following established procedures, and following established safety standards while using tools and equipment.
Education and Experience:
Essential:
- 2 years of vocational training in plumbing or 2 years of equivalent experience
- Certificate of related vocational training
- Exposure to the casino, hospitality and/or hotel industry
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of plumbing building codes
- Working knowledge of Local, State, and Federal guidelines as related to position
- Working knowledge of pipe treading machines, copper soldering, pipe and PVC installation
- Ability to work with corrosive and toxic chemicals
- Ability to read, interpret and apply technical information from manuals, drawings, blue prints, and schematics
- Ability to track and log assignments through a shop log or work order system
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds and lifts
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, reach, crouch, bend, and kneel
- Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to operate power tools
- Ability to use large scale jetting equipment
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurements
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
