What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brand Marketing Coordinator position at Sycuan Casino?
The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive.

Supports Marketing, Media, Communications, Sponsorship and Creative team in executing and publicizing casino marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Coordinates the casino, golf resort, and STDC paid media programs and activities and helps execute effective media communication and media relations programs
- Supports and advances Marketing plans and objectives by conducting demographic, lifestyle, quantitative and similar research, identifying target audiences and market trends, determining media availability and new market opportunities based on analysis and recommending initiatives and activities that provide a competitive advantage.
- Helps execute onsite/offsite marketing programs and events if assistance is needed and the development of recap reporting. This also includes onsite/offsite events and press opportunities.
- Measure the effectiveness of paid media programs by verifying the accuracy of placements, analyzing variances through CPM/CPP, invoicing, and making arrangements to recoup the value of rating points that have not been delivered.
- Coordinates marketing production by gathering copy and graphic information, writing copy and/or facilitating translations where required, assisting in production as needed, determining deadlines, preparing creative requests, and collaborating with Creative Services to prioritize workload.
- Enhances the organization’s reputation as an effective and progressive community partner by maintaining an awareness of emerging media practices, participating in educational opportunities, reading trade publications, exploring innovative media opportunities, and participating in activities to raise Sycuan’s profile in the surrounding community.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent experience
- 1 year experience coordinating marketing campaigns and/or project management
- Casino marketing experience
- Copywriting experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to interact effectively with guests, external agencies, vendors, and Team Members
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
- Ability to perform data entry assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
- Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
- Ability to appear for work on time
- Ability to work in a smoking environment
- Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
- Ability to accept constructive criticism
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
