What are the responsibilities and job description for the CASINO GROUNDSKEEPER position at Sycuan Casino?
The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive.
Much has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region.

- Keeps parking structure and outside grounds surrounding casino clean and safe by routinely picking up, compacting and disposing of trash and debris around the building, parking structure and parking area, sweeping parking area and maintaining orderly, clean appearance of grounds. - 80%
- Maintains safe work and storage areas by observing established safety standards while using compactor, forklift or other available work tools. - 10%
- Assists the Groundskeeping Supervisor by performing other duties as assigned. - 10%
- MUST have CA Drivers License in good standing
- Janitorial or grounds maintenance experience
- Ability to operate compactor and forklift
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
- Ability to read in the English language
- Ability to climb and stand on ladders
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to reach, crouch, and bend
- Ability to appear for work on time
- Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
- Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
- Ability to accept constructive criticism
- Multi-lingual
