Job Purpose:
Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems in accordance with established procedures
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
Installs and maintains HVAC equipment by routinely inspecting motors, compressors, temperature, humidity controls, and electrical systems, repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and fixtures, performing preventative maintenance services on breakers, compressors, transformers, and pressure gages, identifying and correcting defective or damaged systems, and planning and installing evaporator units, pipes, tubing, conduit and thermostats in the buildings as needed.
Maintains safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage area, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools following established procedures, and following established safety standards while using tools.
Education and Experience:
Essential:
High School Diploma, G.E.D, or 2 years of work experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
2 years of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration experience
HVAC/R EPA Universal Certificate
Desirable:
Associates Degree in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration or related field
Exposure to the casino, hospitality and/or hotel industry
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
Proficiency in HVAC building code requirements
Proficiency in building automation systems
Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning compressors, motors and temperature controls
Ability to replace damaged or broken wires, cables, and turbines
Ability to read, interpret and apply technical information from manuals, drawings, schematics and blue-prints
Ability to document and track assignments through a shop log or work order system
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
Ability to read in the English language
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and measurements
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crawl, bend, kneel and reach
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts
Ability to work in small spaces
Ability to appear for work on time
Ability to work in a smoking environment
