NAIL TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose: Provides guests with manicures, pedicures, and other cosmetic nail treatments   Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time) Provides guests with manicures and pedicures by soaking, cleaning, filing, and grooming fingernails and toenails, trimming and removing cuticles, moisturizing hands and feet, removing dead skin in both areas, applying scrubs and lotions as requested, providing a light massage to improve circulation and relaxation, and applying nail polish as requested. - 60% Provides cosmetic nail treatments by applying acrylic, gel polish, and related treatments, filing and shaping nails, applying creative nail polish designs, filling nail growth with powder and solvent and removing acrylic and/or gel polish as requested. - 30% Provides a safe, clean, and sanitary environment by cleaning and disinfecting tools and work area after every appointment, and ensuring shop equipment and tools are in good repair. - 10% Job Specifications: Education and Experience: Essential: Current Manicurist License from the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology 1 year of Nail Technician experience in a spa, salon, or hotel and resort setting 6 months of guest service experience Desirable: Experience in a hotel and/or resort salon or spa Skills and Knowledge: Essential: Working knowledge of Local, State and Federal guidelines as related to position Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests Ability to communicate effectively in the English language Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations Ability to maintain professionalism and composure Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions Ability to appear for work on time Ability to complete forms and documents Ability to sit and stand for up to eight hours at a time Ability to lift up to 30lbs Ability to accept constructive criticism Ability to maintain confidentiality Desirable: Multi-lingual Supervisory/Managerial Accountability: Direct:    None Indirect:  None
