Promotions and Events Supervisor

Job Purpose: The Promotions and Events Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to ensure casino marketing and departmental promotions and events are publicized and executed in a manner that meets or exceeds guest expectations and contributes to creating loyal guests.  The supervisor creates a positive and engaging environment for their team while operating in an effective and efficient manner.  These duties are carried out in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, procedures and laws. Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time) Implements casino marketing and casino directed promotions and special events by collaborating with appropriate departments to ensure adequate staffing for promotions and events, preparing and distributing team member communications, identifying and contacting suitable vendors, placing and tracking equipment and supply purchases, developing promotional materials, overseeing placement of casino signage, submitting targeted Creative Service campaigns, and preparing and providing promotional editorial information to local and national publications. Executes departmental promotions by working and collaborating with casino departments, developing promotions for assigned areas, submitting Creative Service requests, copywriting, proof-reading, and ordering promotional materials.          Evaluates success of promotional events and activities by generating promotional reports, analyzing report data, and preparing written assessments and submitting recommendations to the Special Events and Promotions Manager, Special Events and Entertainment Manager, and Director of Promotions and Special Events for review. Assists with the development of Promotion and Events Coordinators by providing direct and consistent instruction and guidance on policy and procedure application and service delivery. preparing, reviewing and conducting performance appraisals, and providing counseling, guidance and corrective action as needed. Tracks and pays promotional expenses by receiving invoices, reviewing and verifying invoices for accuracy, and approving and submitting invoices to Accounting for payment. Job Specifications: Education and Experience: Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field or Certificate in Event Management or Meeting Planning or equivalent work experience 2 years’ experience managing promotions and special events Training in management and supervisory skills Desirable: Casino or hospitality marketing experience Graphic design and/or copywriting experience Supervisory experience Skills and Knowledge: Essential: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Ability to interact effectively with guests, external agencies, vendors and team members Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments Ability to perform data entry assignments            Ability to communicate effectively in the English language Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports Ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations Ability to maintain professionalism and composure Ability to appear for work on time Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions Ability to accept constructive criticism Ability to work in a smoking environment Desirable: Multi-lingual Supervisory/Managerial Accountability: Direct:        Promotions and Events Coordinators Indirect:      Club Sycuan Ambassadors
