Position Description
The Process Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer works closely with a team of Engineers and Development Technicians to help create methods, procedures, and tools to help improve manufacturing efficiencies, decrease production costs, and eliminate variance.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in Optical, Mechanical or Manufacturing. Associates degree with related experience considered.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- MS Office proficiency.
- CAD/CAM systems.
- Working knowledge/exposure to Lean Six Sigma desired.
- Optical manufacturing experience is not required but would be considered a valuable asset.
Essential Functions
- Develop plans and make calculations for a variety of elements within an engineering project on his/her own or under the supervision of a senior Engineer.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, and sales.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate machines related to optical manufacturing.
- Create work instructions for newly developed/modified manufacturing processes.
- Work with a team of engineers to solve manufacturing and quality challenges.
- Develop fixtures and tools required for new products, in conjunction with R&D product design requirements and performance specifications.
- Ability to read basic blueprints (optical drawings).
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
