What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reliability Engineer position at Syensqo?
We are looking for:
The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will be a member of the technical team that is responsible for safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance and mechanical reliability of the Augusta, GA plant. They are responsible for maximizing the reliability of unit operations, executing small capital projects, and leading efforts to improve reliability and support Operational Excellence.
We count on you for:
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for equipment reliability improvement by working with the Operations and Maintenance organizations
- Manage all aspects of the plant’s Mechanical Integrity Reliability Program, leading team problem solving groups, implementing maintenance standards (lubrication, vibration, balancing, alignment, precision maintenance, bearing handling, etc.), Predictive/Preventive Maintenance optimization, failure analysis, vibration analysis and all necessary reporting
- Uses KPI reports and SAP historical logs to identify areas of the process that are not performing satisfactorily and implement Asset Management
- Strategies to correct including proactive maintenance strategies, machine modifications, capital investment needs, changing operating procedures, etc.
- Evaluates and implements appropriate preventative maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance technologies
- Apply Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure
- Analysis (RCFA) to improve plant performance
- Assist in the development of training for craftsmen, including:
1. Machinery lubrication best practices
2. Power transmission alignment and maintenance
3. Vibration and infrared analysis 4. Pump and solids handling maintenance
- Interface with equipment suppliers to improve overall equipment reliability
- Provide Technical Support of projects to ensure optimal life cycle performance
- Assist maintenance in the scope of equipment repair and provide troubleshooting assistance/failure identification to Operations

You will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years experience in manufacturing; Familiarity with chemical processing industry equipment a plus
- Team leadership skills
- Small project management skills (typically < $100k)
- Project concept, premise, and economic justification development experience
- SAP PM experience a plus
- Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
- Hands-on field machinery expertise preferred

- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $84,960 to $106,200 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
