Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Operations to join our dynamic and growing roofing supply company. The Director of Operations will be responsible for the overall operational excellence and profitability of the company, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations while driving strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Excellence:

• Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including purchasing, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Streamline operational processes, identify and implement cost-saving measures, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.

• Sales & Business Development:

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding into new markets or product lines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.

• Financial Management:

• Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profitability.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Oversee the management of company assets and resources.

• Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and motivate a cross-functional team across departments including sales, warehouse, logistics, and customer service.
• Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing talent within the roofing supply industry.
• Foster a positive company culture focused on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

• Technology & Innovation:

• Implement and maintain relevant technology systems.
• Explore and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer service.

• Industry Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and safety standards related to roofing material handling and distribution.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.

• Strategic Planning:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's overall strategic plan.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and challenges.
• Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential risks and disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in a senior operations leadership role within the building materials industry, with a strong preference for roofing supply experience.
• Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, improving profitability, and achieving strategic goals.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant industry software.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and budgeting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $99,000.00 per year
