TITLE: Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties will involve preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced demanding manufacturing environment as well as participate in projects and management/capital project program. The Maintenance Technician may need to work on different shifts based on coverage demands, as well as be available for on call during off hours, weekends, holidays, and able to work alone as well as within a team.

Experience (Required):

  • High school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum hands-on skilled maintenance experience - four years.

Experience (Strongly Preferred):

  • Associate degree and/or advanced technical certificates.
  • Electrical and mechanical knowledge and machine repair.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Certification for maintenance, universal recovery (HVAC), electrical, and welding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to learn the manufacturing process as it relates to equipment operations, to our company procedures.
  • Must possess process and troubleshooting skills to respond to and drive performance.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance activities and unscheduled repairs as instructed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various machines.
  • Must be able to read production schedule compliance.
  • Electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic repair maintenance and fabrication.
  • Repairs complex electrical equipment, including automated machines, controls, panels, relays, alarms and circuit breakers.
  • Installs functional and structural parts in devices or equipment.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, and addresses equipment issues or malfunctions.
  • Operates electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, sketches or layouts.
  • Provides assistance and teamwork with other maintenance technicians.
  • Must be able to lead and create a safe work culture.
  • Support all company policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example and perform all job duties.

Qualifications

Position Requirements and Skills:

  • Critical thinking, reading comprehension, communication.
  • electrical print reading, blueprint reading.
  • Basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Complex problem-solving skills: problem identification, information gathering, information organizing, idea generation, idea evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in machinery maintenance.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of production processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and safety oriented.
  • Must be flexible in working hours including overtime, holidays, and different shifts, as required.
  • Must possess good communication/interpersonal skills and get along well with others.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to manage time well.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; hear; sit; and may be able to move more than 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid, extreme cold or hot conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne partials, and vibrations. The work environment is moderate to occasionally loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
