What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Sylvan America?
The Quality Assurance Technician reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position will assist in the quality testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, environmental samples and finished product.
Job requirements
- BS in Biological, Chemical, or Physical Sciences
- Visually inspect product to ensure compliance with specifications, document product investigations, and propose corrective actions for non-compliance.
- Follow quality control testing procedures to ensure that all are performed per protocol.
- Observe manufacturing, analyze the techniques, investigate problems and propose alternative methodologies for process resolutions or enhancements.
- Collect, categorize, calculate, analyze and report information
- Organize, plan and prioritize work
- Verbal and written communication.
- Operate Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to climb, lift, balance, walk, stoop and handle materials. The employee must have the ability to physically exert himself/herself for periods of time. This includes moving 15 – 20 lb. bags in ranges from waist level to floor level and up to heights of approximately 6 ft
