Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing nutritious meals to our residents in a nursing home setting. You will assist with food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and contribute to creating a pleasant dining experience for our residents. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
- Buss tables after meals and assist with dishwashing as needed.
- Support the dietary team in inventory management, including stocking supplies and monitoring expiration dates.
- Communicate effectively with residents to understand their dietary needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that residents receive appropriate meals based on their health requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary aide or similar role within a nursing home or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food production, food preparation, and food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on compassion and empathy towards residents.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is beneficial.
