Sylvan is hiring College students or recent College grads as Math tutors at our Schaumburg, IL and Lake Zurich / Barrington, IL locations!
We are hiring Part-Time Math tutors for in-person tutoring for students K-12 :
- Math Tutor
- TestPrep (ACT / SAT) Tutor

For Math Tutors : College students or professionals with strong Math abilities. Education or Math degrees are not required.For TestPrep (ACT / SAT) Tutor : strong ACT / SAT score required (30 ACT / 1400 SAT). Education or Math degrees are not required.Excellent job for local Community College students.1 year tutoring experience preferred.Strong communication skills.Ability to multi-task.Working out of one of our locations in Schaumburg or Lake Zurich / Barrington.Tutor Skills and Qualifications :
Teach using Sylvan based programsCurriculum, training and direction providedDirect and motivate students during instructionReward students for successful workEvaluate and document student progressCommunicate student needs to our Educational TeamDevelop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environmentMaintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and SylvanAbout Sylvan Learning Centers :
We are the industry leaders in providing supplemental education to children in pre-K through 12th grade.We provide individualized instruction in Comprehension, Reading, English, Writing, Math and Study Skills.We also offer ACT / SAT Test Prep and STEM.Given the pandemic, we are seeing growing needs for tutoring.We teach 7 days per week and require our teachers to work at least one of Saturday / Sunday, and at least one day during the week. We have extended teaching opportunities in the summer with morning hours.If you aspire to inspire, then we want you on our team!
