What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Math Teacher position at Sylvan Learning Center?
Since 1995, Sylvan Learning of East Brunswick has been inspiring students to succeed in school and in life. We are currently seeking teachers to work with students at our location. At Sylvan, there are no lesson plans to make and no papers to grade. Our teachers get to just teach and enjoy spending time with students, doing the work they love without the stress of administrative work and parent meetings.
Currently, Sylvan has openings for Elementary, Middle School, and High School Reading, Writing, and Math teachers. The programs that Sylvan offers are aligned to the Common Core Standards. All lessons are provided to the instructor, so no planning is required. All Sylvan instructors are expected to have knowledge in their content area, good communication skills and enjoy working with students, while motivating them through positive reinforcement.
Math Teachers Wanted for Fun After-School Tutoring!
Sylvan Learning Center is looking for fun, dedicated tutors to help and inspire students. We are currently looking for tutors who are able to teach Middle School and High School math including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 , Trig and/or Calculus.
Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities. Working with groups of only three students, you will be responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There is no lesson plan to create, no homework to grade, no parent-conferencing, and scheduling is flexible. Enjoy all of the benefits of teaching, without any of the downsides!
What you should know:
• You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.
• Tutor students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 3 students per tutor.
• Most tutors choose to work 2-5 days/week
• We are open for instruction weekday afternoons Saturday mornings.
• This is NOT a remote position
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Teaching Credential preferred
• You must enjoy tutoring, working, and inspiring students. (We want you to be happy here!)
• Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation.
• Strong knowledge of Middle/High School Math (or higher) strongly preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
