What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Coach (K-8th) - After School position at Sylvan Learning Center?
Personal Math Coaches Wanted for Fun After-School Tutoring! Sylvan Learning Center of Piedmont is looking for fun, dedicated coaches and teachers to support and inspire students. We are currently looking for teachers who are able to teach K-6 math. K-8 (or above, including Integrated / Algebra 1 ) is strongly preferred. We have 7 locations (Oakland, Castro Valley, El Cerrito, Walnut Creek, Fairfield, Napa & Vacaville) chose the location that is closest to you!
Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities. Working with well-behaved groups of up to four students, you will be responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There is no lesson plan to create, no homework to grade, no parent-conferencing, and scheduling is flexible. Enjoy all of the benefits of teaching, without any of the downsides!
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Teaching Credential recommended
- You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students. (We want you to be happy here!)
- Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation.
- Strong knowledge of K-6 math. Knowledge of Algebra / Integrated 1 (or higher) strongly preferred.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
