What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Math Tutor-June thru August position at Sylvan Learning Center?
The Ace it! Math Program is an engaging, effective and efficient intervention program for students in need of Math intervention. The rigorous evidence-based curriculum is designed specifically to address the needs of under-performing students in Math. Students are placed in small groups (up to 8 students) based upon their scores on the STAR Math Assessment.
During each session, the tutor leads the group through the explicit, intensive, and systematic curriculum. The tutor tracks individual progress and uses a variety of techniques to address the diverse learning needs of each student in the group. The STAR is also used to track and report student academic progress.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
