Aquatics – Lifeguard – Sylvania Recreation Corp. (SRC)

Part Time/Full Time Position: Weekdays/Weekends

Overall Responsibilities:

The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons of Plummer Pool/Centennial Quarry, to prevent accidents and to monitor activities in and around the pool.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow and enforce all rules and regulations.
• Observe all patrons, both in and out of the water, to ensure public safety.
• Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer first aid when needed.
• Maintain order in swimming area.
• Communicate well with the public.
• Be professional.
• Inspect facility for cleanliness and hazards.
• Maintain accurate incident reports.
• Complete all records and reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in all in-service training.
• Maintain a high level of swimming fitness.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Perform task and maintain work area in a safe and orderly manner.
• Conduct swimming lessons

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/Waterfront Training certificate.

2. Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate.

3. An understanding of facility policies, procedures, and rules.

4. Leadership qualities, public relation skills, and a strong work ethic.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Lifeguard: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
