Our programs in Academics, Athletics, and the Arts are taught by local professionals who dedicate their time to reinvesting their skills and knowledge and giving back to the young people. By developing and investing in youth, we desire to transform Flint into a just and equitable city. Our doors are open to everyone! Covering 10 different areas, we offer many different programs that youth can choose from. What We're Looking For:
- Certified teachers with 2 years of classroom experience
- Strong classroom management skills

Your Role:
- Develop and lead fun, educational and interactive lessons
- Create activities that align with educational standards to meet students where they are at
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with staff and families to ensure students thrive

Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements for the individual needs
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment for students
- Prepare students for a showcase event to highlight their work
- Utilize various teaching methods and techniques to accommodate different learning styles
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
- Reports weekly to the Director of Academic Initiative regarding student achievement and needs
- Acts as an advocate to student home schools and outside agencies as needed
Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree required from an Accredited University or College
- Valid and Active Teaching Certificate within this current school year Strong educational background with the ability to educate students in various subjects
- Knowledge of special education strategies and techniques for students with diverse learning needs
- Understanding of childhood development principles and the ability to apply them in the classroom
- Proficient in behavior management techniques to create a positive and respectful classroom environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Exudes respect and flexibility to impact the workplace in a positive manor
- Detail oriented, and committed to precision in work results
