JOBTITLE: Processor/Mixer (applies to Level 1 – Level 5 positions)
JOB SUMMARY:
Critical production position responsible for a smooth, safe and quality production process primarily focused from the cooler - to packaging – through staging of finished materials. Assures quality and conformance of compound size, shape, color, specific gravity, hardness, packaging, labeling, and other key specifications required by the customer and detailed on the “Production Pak”, and Navision instructions. Thorough and efficient clean outs / housekeeping and contamination avoidance is also extremely critical. Safety, efficiency, productivity, accuracy, quality and team work are the driving elements for this important position.
1) Accurate calculation and record keeping of production and QC data such as quantities produced, amount of scrap, production rates, extruder temps, hardness, specific gravity, etc.
2) Accurate information documented / entered into computer and / or Production Pak (mix sheets, qci’s, etc.) forms for proper record keeping – and future reference.
3) Conscientious, pro-active and intelligent troubleshooting of problems that may happen on the Production Floor.
4) Assurance to maximum and efficient product throughput with high quality control.
5) Making suggestions on improvements to the process methods, equipment etc. to enhance Sylvin manufacturing and value to it’s customers and associates.
6) Performs thorough, high level and safe cleanouts between production runs to assure zero product / process contamination and zero accidents - can recognize and effectively clean out all critical cleanout and contamination.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) as a minimum plus two (2) years of manufacturing or construction experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; extreme heat (non-weather); and vibration; work in high places; and the noise level in the work environment is very loud.
The associate must wear eye, ear and foot protection at all times and other safety equipment as required.
