Job Overview
As a Library Assistant, you will support daily library operations, assist patrons in finding and utilizing resources, and help maintain an organized and welcoming learning environment. Your role involves cataloging materials, managing checkouts and returns, and providing guidance to students and staff on library resources and research techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist patrons in locating books, digital resources, and reference materials.
- Manage the circulation desk, including book checkouts, renewals, and returns.
- Maintain and organize library materials, ensuring proper shelving and cataloging.
- Support students and staff in using library technology, databases, and research tools.
- Help organize and facilitate library programs, workshops, and events.
- Monitor library inventory and assist in ordering new materials.
- Enforce library policies and maintain a quiet and productive study environment.
- Provide assistance with basic troubleshooting of library computers and software.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required.
- Experience in a library, customer service, or administrative role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using library databases, computer systems, and digital resources.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- A passion for books, learning, and supporting students’ educational journeys.

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
