Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with developmental disabilities and creating a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Support students in various educational settings
- Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed
- Assist with behavior management and intervention strategies
- Help students develop social skills and independence
- Support literacy education and other academic activities
- Aid in lesson planning and classroom preparation
Requirements
- Experience working with students, preferably in special education or childcare settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards educating and supporting students
- Certification or coursework in special education is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
