Special Education Paraprofessional

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with developmental disabilities and creating a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Support students in various educational settings
• Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed
• Assist with behavior management and intervention strategies
• Help students develop social skills and independence
• Support literacy education and other academic activities
• Aid in lesson planning and classroom preparation

Requirements

• Experience working with students, preferably in special education or childcare settings
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles
• Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and parents
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards educating and supporting students
• Certification or coursework in special education is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
