Your Impact

This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of an advanced biosensing platform. As a key partner to leadership, you will take the lead in refining and optimizing the platform at its core, ensuring it is not only commercially scalable but also continuously evolving to meet new challenges.

Youll be at the forefront of biosensor and platform development, leveraging your expertise to advance performance, expand capabilities, and push the boundaries of what this technology can achieve. If you want to be part of a breakthrough innovationand see your work make a direct impactthis is the role for you.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, industry-experienced R&D Scientist / Bioengineer to lead biosensor and platform innovation. This hands-on role focuses on technical problem-solving and enhancing platform performance, reliability, and scalability.

This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist who is passionate about platform development rather than assay implementation, thrives in early-stage R&D, and is eager to tackle real-world challenges in biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize and enhance biosensor technology at a fundamental level, improving signal strength, reducing background noise, and refining sensor encoding.
  • Troubleshoot platform components, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Leverage expertise in surface chemistry, conjugation chemistry, and biosensors to develop new methodologies.
  • Design and execute large-scale R&D campaigns to optimize bioassay parameters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, automation, and manufacturing to translate R&D discoveries into scalable solutions.
  • Develop and implement protocols for new targets and platform enhancements.
  • Engage in hands-on lab work, including antibody conjugation, DNA modification, fluorescence analysis, and sensor surface functionalization.
  • Apply a first-principles approach to solving complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure commercial application of innovations, aligning research with product development goals.

What Were Looking For

  • 2 years of industry experience in biosensor development, biotechnology platform engineering, or a related field.
  • PhD in bioengineering, biophysics, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in surface chemistry, conjugation chemistry, and biosensor technologies.
  • Strong background in proteomics, immunoassays, and bioassay optimization at a fundamental level.
  • Proven experience in building and improving technology platforms, with a deep understanding of underlying components and mechanisms beyond application in biological studies.
  • Ability to break down technical problems, analyze root causes, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience in fast-paced startup or early-stage R&D environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to drive projects and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Who Will Succeed in This Role?

  • A scientist who is product-driven , with a strong focus on commercial viability and scalability, applying scientific expertise to real-world solutions.
  • A problem-solver capable of breaking down complex technical challenges and optimizing technology.
  • A researcher with hands-on experience developing and refining biosensor platforms , understanding every critical component that contributes to performance.
  • A proactive innovator who enjoys hands-on lab work and seeing their research transition into real-world application.
