Seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong expertise in designing and implementing data models for large-scale banking systems. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in the banking domain and a deep understanding of financial data structures, regulatory requirements, and core banking systems.
You will be responsible for translating business needs into logical, physical, and conceptual data models while ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with banking standards.
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop logical, physical, and conceptual data models for banking applications and systems.
· Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and development teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective data structures.
· Optimize and maintain data models to support performance, scalability, and data governance.
· Ensure models comply with banking regulations and internal standards.
· Support data mapping, data lineage, and metadata management efforts.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to refine data definitions, relationships, and business rules.
· Document models using standard tools and techniques (ERwin, ER/Studio, etc.).
· Analyze existing data structures and recommend improvements to meet evolving banking needs.
Key Skills:
· Strong hands-on experience in Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical).
· Deep understanding of banking and financial data domains — retail banking, lending, deposits, risk, regulatory reporting, KYC/AML.
· Expertise in data modeling tools (ERwin, ER/Studio, SAP PowerDesigner, or equivalent).
· Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB2).
· Experience with Data Warehousing, ETL pipelines, and Data Governance practices.
· Familiarity with data lake and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
· Understanding of data quality frameworks, data lineage, and metadata management.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
· Experience working in Agile or hybrid environments.
· Knowledge of data security and compliance standards in the financial industry.
