Sr. Data Analyst

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Senior Data Analyst!

About the role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll be transforming complex data into actionable insights and building self-service reporting solutions. You'll be working with SQL and Snowflake datasets, developing Power BI paginated reports, and creating AI-driven tools to help users access summarized data.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain reports using SQL or Snowflake, standardize and migrate datasets for self-service reporting, create Power BI paginated reports for large data exports, and evaluate existing reports to understand their business value and ensure reports align with business needs
• Empower users by transitioning reports to self-service formats, develop AI tools like a GPT-based solution for easy data access, and provide guidance on requests that can be handled through existing tools or self-service options, ensuring efficiency and minimizing unnecessary work.
• Migrate Excel reports from older SQL systems to Snowflake using Power Query, ensure data integrity across systems and manage pipelines, and resolve data discrepancies between reporting sources.
• Provide accurate reports for legal and compliance teams and interpret intricate data requests with financial and policy knowledge.
• Work with business teams to gather reporting requirements and deliver insights, communicate technical data to non-technical teams, and evaluate reporting requests to determine most efficient approach.

Compensation

Salary Range: $93,900 - $156,600 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:

• High School Diploma required, and Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the financial or insurance industry.
• Proficient in SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and Power Query.
• Experience with self-service reporting and AI tools.
• Ability to evaluate and prioritize reporting work, identify optimal data sources, and push back when tasks can be handled autonomously.
• Understanding of insurance policy administration platforms preferred
