What You Will Do

  • Coordinate with internal project teams, consultants, contractors, engineers, fabricators, product reps, furniture dealers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Develop overall design concepts and select interior finishes, furniture, etc.
  • Coordinate detailed documentation with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
  • Ensure the design intent is incorporated into construction documentation
  • Resolve complex design issues with team to produce innovative, technical, and constructible solutions 
  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
  • Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors
  • Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of project
  • Review and contribute to proposals and contracts
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
  • Actively participate in Sym8 activities, initiatives, and learning curriculums
  • Contribute to Sym8’s goals of altruism, wellness, and sustainability
  • Mentor and provide direction to junior team members
  • Develop and participate in internal presentations

Qualifications You Will Need

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
  • Collaborative and team consciousness
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong leadership, presentation, client service, and relationship management skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong talent for organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent time-management skills with ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and meet deadlines
  • Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficient

Your Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
  • 5 years of experience in all phases of commercial interiors projects
  • LEED AP, WELL AP certifications highly valued
