What You Will Do
- Coordinate with internal project teams, consultants, contractors, engineers, fabricators, product reps, furniture dealers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
- Develop overall design concepts and select interior finishes, furniture, etc.
- Coordinate detailed documentation with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
- Ensure the design intent is incorporated into construction documentation
- Resolve complex design issues with team to produce innovative, technical, and constructible solutions
- Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
- Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors
- Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of project
- Review and contribute to proposals and contracts
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
- Actively participate in Sym8 activities, initiatives, and learning curriculums
- Contribute to Sym8’s goals of altruism, wellness, and sustainability
- Mentor and provide direction to junior team members
- Develop and participate in internal presentations
Qualifications You Will Need
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
- Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
- Collaborative and team consciousness
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong leadership, presentation, client service, and relationship management skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong talent for organization and attention to detail
- Excellent time-management skills with ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and meet deadlines
- Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficient
Your Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
- 5 years of experience in all phases of commercial interiors projects
- LEED AP, WELL AP certifications highly valued
