Accountabilities
Overview : As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating the financial health of the organization. You will be responsible for analysing financial data across the entire company, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role will report to the VP of FP&A and be responsible for enterprise level financial data, generating corporate-level reports, and providing analytical support for business planning, forecasting, and other strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Corporate Financial Consolidation and Reporting
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis processes at the enterprise level, ensuring accuracy and effective messaging through preparation and presentation of Monthly Business Reviews.
- Prepare and present entire company financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to senior leadership.
- Leverage knowledge of all 3 financial statements to analyse variances and forecast liquidity for the enterprise.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather, analyse, and compile financial data for total enterprise reporting including variance analysis and performance metrics.
- Support ad-hoc strategic projects and initiatives, providing financial analysis and recommendations.
Strategic Business Partnership
Partner with senior leadership to support the development of the 5-Year Plan, Annual Budget, and Monthly Latest Estimates.Collaborate with Operational FP&A team to understand the impact of the operating groups on the full enterprise and determine high-level drivers of performance.Provide financial analysis and insights to support corporate strategic planning and decision-making.Align financial and operational analyses with corporate goals, challenging assumptions and providing recommendations for improvement.Build and maintain financial models to support business planning and value creation initiatives.Develop and track meaningful financial metrics to support data-driven decision-making and provide actionable insights to the leadership team.Education / Certification / Experience
Expert knowledge of Corporate Finance and its application to wholesale and retail energy marketsStrong understanding of the relationship between Accounting and FinanceExperience designing and implementing financial models and turning models into actionable insightsProven ability to develop strategic relationships with business partnersAbility to work independently, readily adapt to and lead through changing environmentBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar concentrationMBA, CFA or equivalent, preferred3 – 5 years of experience in a similar roleStrong Excel and PowerPoint skills requiredExperience with Endur, MS Dynamics, Anaplan, and Tableau preferredCapability and Skillset Requirements
