As a Construction Design-Build Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless execution of design-build projects from conception to completion. You will act as a liaison between the design team, construction team, clients, and subcontractors to ensure all project requirements are met within established timelines and budgets. This role requires a combination of project management, technical knowledge, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop comprehensive design-build project plans.
- Coordinate project activities, schedules, and resources to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Track project progress and milestones, identifying and addressing potential delays or obstacles.
- Coordination and/or creation of project renderings.
- Work with design/build team to develop preconstruction project scope lists and/or trade packages
- Gather early existing condition information pertinent to proposed project.
- Coordinate / manage CRM software utilized by Symmetry to manage workflows for design/build processes.
Design Management:
- Review design drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals, codes, and regulations.
- Facilitate design coordination meetings to resolve conflicts and ensure the integration of all design disciplines.
- Compile & efficiently file design meeting agendas & minutes.
- Manage the design change process, including documentation, approvals, and communication with stakeholders.
- Compile submittal package in response to public request for qualifications (RFQ) procurements.
- Assist in-house engineer in production of SWPPP plans.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications between internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate project success.
- Facilitate regular meetings with project teams to discuss progress, issues, and action plans.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings or value engineering.
- Collaborate with the finance department to track project costs, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Address non-conformance issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in construction project management, design coordination, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED accreditation (preferred but not required).
- CAD drafting capability a plus but not required.
