About the Role
We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Light Gauge Steel BIM Designer to join our team. This position requires extensive experience in designing light gauge steel structures through panelization and developing complete steel panel systems. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise combined with an innovative approach to steel structure design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and model light gauge steel structural systems using BIM software
- Create detailed shop drawings and construction documents for light gauge steel panels
- Develop and optimize panel systems for structural integrity, constructability, and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate with project teams including architects, engineers, and fabricators
- Review and validate models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications
- Generate material take-offs and quantity estimates for fabrication
- Troubleshoot complex design issues and provide technical solutions
- Contribute to the standardization of light gauge steel design processes
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in light gauge steel design and BIM modeling
- Proven experience in panelization of light gauge steel structures including wall panels, roof trusses, and floor trusses.
- Demonstrated ability to develop complete steel panel systems
- Proficiency in StructSoft or equivalent light gauge steel design software
- Strong understanding of building codes and structural engineering principles related to light gauge steel
- Experience with CFS (Cold-Formed Steel) framing systems
- Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes for light gauge steel components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or other complementary BIM platforms
- Understanding of MEP coordination in light gauge steel structures
- Knowledge of connection design and load path analysis
- Familiarity with prefabrication and modular construction techniques
- Experience with steel joist and deck systems
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
