Description :
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physician with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures. Full-time position, hours vary from 30-40 per week.
Full-time Hourly Position to start ASAP (4-5 days per week with one Saturday shift per month)
Pay : $20 - $22 hourly
Essential Job Functions :
- Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
- Perform preliminary physical tests : take blood pressure, weight and report patient history summary.
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding all medical records, and completing diagnostic procedure coding.
- Uses recognized and accurate medical terminology and abbreviations for all medical documentation.
- Collects, labels, and sends specimens with appropriate laboratory slips and / or requisitions.
- Assists physician with in-office procedures limited to set up and breakdown of simple sterile procedures. Draping and prepping patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Performs cleaning / decontamination of equipment / materials and instruments.
- Checks inventories, restocks and replaces patient equipment and supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
