What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Symphony Search?
We’re searching for a Quality Engineer to assess, monitor, and enhance business performance for our organization. To ensure success as a Quality Engineer, you should be a skilled communicator and be adept at business analysis and project implementation.
Responsibilities
- Enter sample orders. Note: A PO must accompany sample order before it can be entered.
- Program/use of Romidot.
- Schedule sample production with all departments.
- Perform QC inspections for First Article samples.
- Use of metrology devices including: caliper, micrometer, gauge blocks & pins, surface plate & height gauge, dial indicators, mil thickness meter, colorimeter, gloss meter, length gauges (digital & manual), protractor.
- Complete customer PPAP documentation.
- Complete CAP FAIR documents.
- Communicate sample lead time with sales and customers.
- Complete paperwork and ship samples to customer.
- Develop tooling and fab quotes with tool room or appropriate personnel.
- Communicate profile inspection information to extrusion department/die shop
- Complete other tasks as required by manager.
- Comply with the organization’s Integrated (Quality, Environmental and Safety) Policy and all other safety and health and environmental practices, programs, and procedures.
- Participate in the Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (EMS/OHSMS) by reporting incidents or near misses, reporting problems and recommending improvements, and other related activities.
- Successfully complete required environmental and health & safety (OHSMS) training.
- Stop work immediately if you consider conditions or work methods to be unsafe or environmentally unsound and notify your supervisor of the problem.
Qualifications
- Experience in PPAPs and FAIRS
- Experience using calipers and micrometes
- Able to be professional in high-stress situations
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Confidence in your abilities to lead organizational change.
- Spanish is a plus
