What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Symphony Search?
We're seeking a Quality Engineer to assess, monitor, and enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter sample orders accompanied by purchase orders
- Utilize Romidot programming
- Schedule sample production with all departments
- Perform quality control inspections on First Article samples
- Operate metrology devices including calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, pins, surface plates, height gauges, dial indicators, mil thickness meters, colorimeters, gloss meters, length gauges, and protractors
- Complete customer PPAP documentation
- Prepare CAP FAIR documents
- Communicate sample lead times with sales and customers
- Process paperwork and ship samples to customers
- Develop tooling and fabrication quotes with the tool room or relevant personnel
- Provide profile inspection information to the extrusion department and die shop
- Perform other tasks as required by the manager
- Adhere to the organization's Integrated Policy and all safety, health, and environmental practices, programs, and procedures
- Participate in the Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management System by reporting incidents, recommending improvements, and engaging in related activities
- Successfully complete required environmental and occupational health & safety training
- Stop work immediately if conditions or work methods are deemed unsafe or environmentally unsound and notify the supervisor of the issue
Qualifications:
- Experience with PPAPs and FAIRS
- Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers
- Ability to remain professional in high-stress situations
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Confidence in leading organizational change
- Spanish language proficiency is beneficial
