Underwriting Associate opportunity
The Underwriting Associate will play a key role in supporting the underwriting and valuation processes for infrastructure real estate investments. This individual will leverage their analytical skills to assess financial performance, model investment opportunities, and contribute to the overall decision-making process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or real estate, along with experience in underwriting, valuation, or financial analysis, and be proficient in Excel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the underwriting and evaluation of infrastructure real estate investment opportunities, including acquisition, financing, and development projects.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment analysis and decision-making.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and key performance metrics to assess asset performance and risks.
- Prepare comprehensive investment memos, reports, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Perform due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including market research, financial analysis, and risk assessments.
- Support the development of valuation models and analysis using various approaches, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable sales, and cap rate methodologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure all underwriting processes and documentation are accurate and complete.
- Monitor the performance of existing assets, conducting periodic reviews and updating financial models as needed.
- Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting infrastructure real estate.
