Director of Structural Engineering
This role will be responsible for the structural Compliance and integrity of the company’s assets. Review of tower audits (TIA/EIA inspections), creation and review of structural remediation design, and project management of structural upgrade projects on existing vertical steel structures and rooftop assets. Activities include structural engineering analysis, modifications/augmentations designs, overseeing the bidding process, vendor qualification and selection, and project execution along with vendor management, project completion documentation review and approval, and drafting for both end planning and detailed engineering phase of multidisciplined projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform as project lead engineer for large and small projects with little oversight, managing the project through competitive bidding, ensuring quality, managing and maintaining budget, and schedule, managing the work throughout various project stages-from conceptual, feasibility, and detailed design through construction and closeout of project.
- Prepare proposals through definition and write-ups of project scope of works and activities on past projects, as it pertains to budget KPIs.
- Establish individual projects' scope of work, budgeting, and manage vendor performance.
- Work with internal and external customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, meeting and or exceeding external client expectations.
- Responsible for the design of structural systems and components specifically related to the cell tower industry ensuring the designs conform to the latest industry standards and Codes.
- Duties will include structural engineering, structural design and details, analysis and design, and writing technical and study reports.
- Direct or participate in planning, designing, or reviewing analysis, design plans, working close with internal departments, external customers, and outside vendors in a project management scenario.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with structural engineering in the telecom space.
- Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber design, and familiarity with applicable codes ( IBC, ASCE7, ACI, AISC, TIA etc.)
- Preferred software knowledge and requirements include Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, RISA 3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with internal and external customers, virtually and in person, and to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organization, analytical, and time management skills with a high level of detail and self-motivation to be successful.
- Ability to identify and establish work priorities, setting deadlines, and abiding by set deadlines, while balancing multiple tasks and projects.
- Must be able to problem solve and work under tight deadlines, and able to learn and apply new technologies with minimal support.
- Must possess working knowledge of industry codes and standards and have experience with the latest engineering analysis software and techniques.
- Ability to maintain and develop relationships with existing/potential Clients, vendors and partners, recognize their needs and expectations and respond expeditiously.
- PE with stamps in most if not all the lower 48 states
