POSITION SUMMARY
The Perioperative Nurse performs skilled management of patients during preoperative and postoperative period. Additionally, a Perioperative Nurse will be responsible for delegating interventions which may be performed by others, supervising others as appropriate, assisting in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, providing education to patients, families and health professionals and collaboration with other health professionals in the planning and management of health care. Responsibilities include assessing the health status of individuals and groups, establishing nursing diagnoses, establishing goals to meet identified health care needs, planning a strategy of medical or health care, prescribing nursing interventions to fulfill the strategy of care, implementing the strategy of care and evaluating documented responses to interventions. Call is required in this position.
QUALIFICATION
EDUCATION:

Graduate of RN accredited program required.

BSN preferred
EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:

Post anesthesia Care/Phase I Recovery experience required

Moderate Sedation experience required
-
IV Proficiency required
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):
-
Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Massachusetts required.

Current BLS and ACLS certification required.

CPAN certification preferred at hire
Post hire requirements:

PALS Certification

Cross train to ENDO within 6 months of hire
