Your role
· Independent research and development of personal care formulas as directed by customer requests
· Develop formulations to support marketing initiatives
· Responsible for monitoring integrity testing to ensure commercial viability of formulations
· Maintain a good working knowledge of raw materials to enhance product development offering
· Responsible for ordering necessary raw materials, consumables, packaging etc. that are required for the projects
· Perform any technical tasks and support at the request of the Technical Director
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science.
- Minimum 3-5 yrs. experience in the cosmetic industry (i.e. finished goods company or raw material supplier) in the applications technology area.
- Experience formulating emulsions, OTC products with UV filters, surfactant systems and extensive knowledge of active ingredients required. Color cosmetic formulation knowledge is a plus.
- Good written and oral presentation skills
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills
- Critical thinking and Resourceful, capable of seeking solutions to common challenges
- Multitasking and capable of prioritizing tasks / managing time effectively
