About the Role
Position Summary
The Inventory Control Clerk / Admin is responsible for designing the cycle count strategy to cover packaging, raw materials and finished products, then accurately count the products in the warehouses, reconcile the variances arising from comparing physical counts with inventory records in the system, while maintaining records of counts performed and results obtained. This role is also responsible for calculating and publishing the Inventory Accuracy KPI on a monthly basis. This position will frequently interact with personnel working in Production, Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Purchasing and Accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs the Cycle Count strategy for packaging, raw materials and finished products with the goal of counting all items a few times per year. Verifies that recently created items are included in the cycle count strategy.
- Performs physical counts across the different warehouses and identifies variances. Keeps records of counts performed and variances identified
- Investigates and reconcile variances across the warehouse, production and shipments to customers. Identifies the Root Cause of variances and suggests and promotes actions that prevents recurrence.
- Adjusts inventory records in the system upon approval and prepares the inventory accuracy KPI.
- Other duties including housekeeping, lift truck operation, continuous improvement and training as well as training of new Material Handlers when required.
About You
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
- 2 years of inventory experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment.
- Must have RF bar code scanning experience.
- Solid written & verbal communication skills are a must.
- Must have the necessary math skills to process orders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
- Good judgement and decision-making abilities along with a positive, coachable personality are required.
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift is desired.
