Your role
Summer Intern
1. Site Drawings: Work with Engineering & Maintenance to accurately measure and map the facilities, and create a CAD drawing of entire facility including outbuildings and grounds. Assess process and facility capabilities based off learnings.
2. Expansion: Work on feasibility of packaging expansion throughout the plant in regards to site footprint, equipment, manpower, etc. Generate and present design concepts, perform design reviews with team members. Investigate new technologies and implement countermeasures.
3. Process Improvement: Work closely with team members to identify bottleneck areas, measure critical parameters, propose solutions, implement solutions, measure and quantify the results.
Applicants should be currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar. Ideal candidates also have the following skills/experiences:
* Experience with AutoCAD including creating models and drawings (civil drawings a plus)
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Course studies or work experience with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Must have strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Self-motivated and self-directed with sense of urgency
* Have strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Must have strong attention to detail.
