Symrise - always inspiring more...About the RoleEssential Duties and Responsibilities : STRATEGIC TASKS Strategically grow the business with Symrise's east coast distributor along with key direct accounts in the east coast. Build a pro-active, competitive sales approach based on the client needs and the unique selling propositions of Symrise products Develop a winning sales strategies and value propositions which leverage the unique and complementary businesses within the Symrise family of business in North America Advise and inform on customer activities, customer brands, market trends and competitor's activities to aid strategic planning Plan and decide on the optimal resource allocation in line with the strategy. Identify and develop new business opportunities in focus segments Identify causes of success and failure in processes, projects, plans and their implementation in order to build on strengths and to reduce weaknesses. Promote a shared vision and mission to give purpose to the sales team as well as building a strong and cohesive team. Collaborate closely with internal teams : Technical Directors, Lab, Sales Support, Operations, Marketing SALES TASKS Deliver the sales and gross profit budgets. Establish close and effective relationships with our Major and Target Customers' top management. Constantly review the existing sales territories, including new customer opportunities and develop, update the sales force allocation. Develop, in cooperation with the VP of Sales, long term customer development plans for key customers to become a strategic partner and to ensure achievement of the budget. Have direct account management responsibility for selected accounts. Attend industry events LEADERSHIP Meet constantly changing market requirements. Define values and policies to develop an appropriate team culture. Set objectives and expected results consistent with the organization's objectives, stated in measurable terms. Develop measures and criteria (KPI's) to evaluate the achievements of the individual objectives. Promote cost awareness and manage expenses within agreed budget limits. INFORMATION AND ANALYSIS Manage the annual budgeting process ensuring all information is captured and agreed. Assess and evaluate information to identify and forecast market trends, issues and developments that might affect the business and the organization within the Manager's area of responsibility. Identify, install, maintain and update methods and systems to record, store and retrieve information. Advise and inform on customer activities, customer brands, market trends and competitors' activities to aid strategic planning. Responsible for updating and monitoring the rolling forecast on monthly basis. About YouRequired Qualifications BS in Chemistry, Biology or other related science 5-10 years of experience within the cosmetic industry within Sales, Marketing, or as a Scientist Technical knowledge about cosmetic ingredients and their application Knowledge about the cosmetic industry and the customers and brands Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with EIS and SPP C4C is desired Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Excellent project management and problem solving capabilities Good analytical skills Strategic vision and planning capabilities Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Focused & Confident Customer orientation Commercial Awareness International orientation : Must be used to working in a multi-cultural environment Travel requirement : approximately 30% - 40% Must live within the territory covered - Intermountain West (UT, ID, No. CA) What We OfferBecome part of our open and transparent culture.
