Your role
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas internal and during external site visits.
- Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements.
- Follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Report any safety, food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Ensure all required paperwork is legible, accurate and completed with required information in a timely manner. Routed to appropriate business partners for processing.
- Maintain communication with other departments to notify them of any problems and / or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
- Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
- Works with operations daily to verify quality checks during production and as needed to maintain product quality and food safety parameters
- Performs product testing using laboratory equipment such as NIR, pH, micro swab, granulometry and viscosity
- Gathers, identifies, and / or stores material samples to be tested on site or forwarded to laboratory for testing
- Works cross functionally with formulation, sales, operations, and maintenance
- Link with EHS team also during risk analysis or nonconformance management
- Lead quality and food safety training with operations
- Participates in customer and 3rd party audits including audit preparation and action item follow-up
- Assists with customer complaint investigation and manages nonconforming in-process and finished product
- Maintains detailed GMP inspection or investigation records, prepares reports, and attends to other related administrative requirements
- Manage records retention per FSSC 22000 requirements
- Reports food safety and quality incidents, key indicator performance metrics to the Quality Assurance Manager
- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations
- Perform CIP swab to validate cleaning and sanitation effectiveness
- HACCP assessment and update of the required documentation
- Maintain documentations of sanitation, pest control and chemical programs as needed
- Facilitate and document risk assessment process for new processes, equipment, or changes.
- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Management retains the discretion to modify or change these duties at any time.
