Your role
Primary responsibility of managing all laboratory services and direct supervision of laboratory associates; and together with the Manager of Quality Assurance and Process Quality Manager, develop and maintain systems to assure that all products manufactured by FITCO meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.
- Direct and supervise all laboratory analysis and services provided by the FITCO laboratory.
- Provide accurate and timely data to production, corporate office, and internal and external customers.
- Ensure that only approved methodology is used in testing and technician are trained adequately to perform required analysis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance programs to ensure conformity of purchased materials and final products to quality standards.
- Assists Quality Assurance Manager with review, revision, and development of FITCO Product Specifications.
- Directly responsible for the mock recall program.
- Assists in the development of audit schedule, participate and assist in preparation for external audits, conduct internal audits to ensure the process produces product in accordance with customer ingredient specifications.
About you
Statistical analysis, statistical process control, total quality management, good communication practices, and sanitation practices will be an intricate part of the quality assurance process. Therefore, formal education in these areas and the related courses, such as mathematics, statistics, microbiology, chemistry, and industrial practices are essential for this position. College degree preferred and/or course work in above disciplines and related work experience required.- Some quality assurance practices as they apply to the specific process can be learned during on-the-job training, but overall capability in this discipline must be previously demonstrated.
- Two or more years experience in Quality Assurance with experience in laboratory and production management in the food industry.
- Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance programs/systems.
- Excellent computer skills.
