Your role
Manages all personnel and operations to ensure manufacture of product within standards of budget, policies, procedures, quality, safety, sanitation and Federal and State laws.- Develops and implements methods to improve productivity within established payroll and expense budgets.
- Responsible for developing and implementing LERF operating budget.
- Purchases equipment, supplies, and small tools, repair and maintenance items, fuel and utilities at the best price possible.
- Develops a team environment in which members participate, cooperate with and support each other.
- Trains and develops lead associates and delegates responsibilities to lead associates when away from the plant.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
- Handles all transportation duties for the timely delivery of our raw materials for this facility.
- Works with each Hatchery serviced by LERF as needed with at least one in person visit per year.
- Responsible for managing shell disposal.
- Assures that established policies, procedures, and work rules are understood and followed.
- Ensures that we provide a safe and clean environment for our associates to work in.
- Maintains a good relationship between the plant and the local community.
- All other duties as assigned.
About you
Poultry Science degree preferred- Experience in poultry or egg industry preferred.
- Additional desired skills: supervisory experience; knowledge of statistical process control; creating, promoting, and maintaining safety programs; knowledge of sanitation and QA programs; and knowledge of mechanical principles.
- Works well with people. Is respected by peers, subordinates, and upper management.
- Has good initiative and the ability to make correct decisions at the appropriate time.
- Exerts strong leadership ability.
- Has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Is cost effective and stewardly with company resources.
- Has the ability and drive to learn all the functions and processes of the facility.
- Can follow, as well as give, directions.
- Has an excellent work record, a positive attitude, high standards, and a neat and clean personal appearance.
- Is willing to work weekends and nights.
- Is willing to travel as needed.
