Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Staff Logistics and Trade Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic and growing organization. This role requires a solid understanding of logistics practices and trade regulations in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with internal teams (Operations, Sales, Legal) and external partners (government agencies, logistics providers, and distribution channels) to ensure compliance with global trade regulations. This position reports to the Report to the Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain & ASIC Operation.
The typical base pay range for this position is USD $123,000 - $194,700 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Screen parties and perform license determinations, automation, and shipment processing in line with regulatory requirements
- Review and validate purchase orders for export, ensuring correct end-user and destination country details to determine export license needs
- Ensure proper documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.) for export / import shipments in compliance with BIS, CBP, and other regulatory bodies
- Validate sanctioned party list screening results and take appropriate action for release
- Apply knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) for accurate import / export documentation
- Manage recordkeeping processes to ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations (BIS, CBP)
- Maintaining compliant processes, including documentation and SOPs, in line with regulatory changes and customer requirements
- Proactively identify and address any import / export compliance issues and resolve challenges related to import / export clearances, shipments, and delivery schedules
- Work closely with global business units and logistics partners to ensure trade compliance
- Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc changes to shipping or compliance procedures
- Cross-train with team members to ensure consistent and effective global coverage
