Logistics Manager

Position Overview:

The Logistics Manager (LM) manages at least one significant customer account. The LM is responsible for managing a team to coordinate the movement of all shipments for assigned customer account(s). Day-to-day activities will include proactively identifying and resolving logistics issues as they arise, coordinating and driving the daily activities of team members and communicating directly with the customer to ensure exceptional service.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee logistics and transportation needs of assigned customers' accounts 
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and core carriers and is a liaison to the sales team. 
• Collaborate with the Synchro Account Managers to ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded. 
• Manages escalated operational issues related to assigned customer accounts. 
• Oversees the continuous documentation of required data in the TMS  
• Identify patterns with shipper, receiver and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement.   
• Oversees & delegates team responsibilities among team members to assure task completion. 
• Train team members to efficiently and confidently complete team responsibilities. 
• Monitor and enhance teams’ assigned tasks to improve individual and team performance including ongoing KPI expectations. 
• Available to address any matter related to customer needs outside of standard business hours. 
• Duties and responsibilities may change, or new ones may be assigned without notice. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, transportation, or other related fields is preferred (not required) 
• 3 years minimum experience in supply chain, transportation or logistics required 
• 1-2 years minimum (supervisor/manager) experience required. 
• 1-2 years of customer service experience required. 
• 1 year minimum of account management experience preferred. 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Proficient using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, & Teams) 
• Proficient computer skills and able to quickly learn new software systems and platforms. 
• Experience utilizing a TMS. 
• Advance knowledge of industry softwares and load boards such as Revenova, DAT, TruckStop, and Carrier 411. 
• Experienced utilizing mathematical equations to quickly solve for transit information 
• Learns quickly and is able to utilize training to analyze issues and initiate resolutions.  
• Efficiently prioritizes responsibilities, multi-task duties, and recognizes when to ask for assistance. 
• Strong attention to details and organizational skills 
• Demonstrates advanced professional, clear and concise communications skills both verbally and written. 
• Comfortable working in a face-paced environment 
• Regularly utilizes positive language with empathy and patience. 
• Active and attentive listener, showing interest and curiosity to better understand information. 
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency to complete tasks 
• Team leader that fosters a positive work environment.
