Job Summary:
The CDL Hydrovac Operator at Vacutek is responsible for operating HydroVac trucks and equipment to perform hydro and air excavation services safely and efficiently. This position requires adherence to industry safety standards, precise execution of excavation tasks, and effective communication with team members and clients. The CDL Hydrovac Operator plays a vital role in ensuring that excavation projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Essential Functions:
- Operate Hydrovac trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently to perform hydro and air excavation tasks.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Execute excavation services according to job specifications, ensuring precision and safety.
- Communicate job details, progress, and any issues to team members and supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines on-site.
- Maintain accurate job logs, documentation, and reports as required by company procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on Hydrovac equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with the Non-CDL Hydrovac Support Specialist and other crew members to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
- Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for operating Hydrovac trucks.
- 3 years of experience operating Hydrovac equipment or similar heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the excavation and construction industry.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of the job.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have physical stamina and strength to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
- Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat
