Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As a product owner, you are in a key leadership role that delivers a feature-rich experience for Synchrony Business Solutions (SBS), our B2B platform for subscription services.  You thrive in a fast-paced, partner-focused, and execution-oriented environment to deliver innovative, industry-leading solutions.  The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset for distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs.

We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility. You have the option to be remote and work from home, or come into one of our offices. You may be occasionally requested to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritize product development and feature backlog
  • Develop detailed feature stories and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams
  • Work closely with product managers and business teams to create and maintain product backlog that is prioritized by business value
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with overall product strategy and vision
  • Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to analyze needs and align product roadmap to meet strategic goals and product vision
  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint and release goals
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 9 years of work experience.

· A minimum of 5 years of work experience to include:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with demonstrated success in a product ownership role
  • Experience with Agile software development framework and leading in a matrixed work environment
  • Experience working with technical teams and guiding the creation and implementation of digital products and platforms

Desired Characteristics:

  • Certified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) enterprise leadership professional
  • Experience in the consumer financial services including credit cards and installment loans
  • Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment
  • High energy, self-motivated individual with superb communication skills (verbal and written)

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
