Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, Cloud Technical Product Owner will be responsible for defining, planning and leading the delivery of cloud initiative. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions that meet business objectives and customer needs. The AVP will prioritize product features, manage the product lifecycle, and ensure the successful delivery and adoption of cloud products.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for cloud-based products and services.
- Align product strategy with business objectives and customer needs.
- Develop and maintain the product roadmap, dependencies, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value and customer feedback.
- Ensure the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with the product strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure successful product development and delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with product goals.
- Oversee the product development process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of cloud products and features.
- Work closely with development teams to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product decisions and improvements.
- Ensure cloud products meet customer needs and deliver a positive user experience.
- Monitor product performance, usage, and adoption metrics.
- Develop and present regular reports on product performance, customer feedback, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud product management.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance product processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner with Journey product Manager to set goals for products and solutions that align to the Agile Teams work and deliver
- Manage Agile teams’ dependencies, risks, and value delivery using Jira, Jira Align and other approved tools
- Maintain Jira Boards based on assigned Epic and Features
- Define releases and program increments with in Jira and communicate with Agile partners and product Managers.
- Partner closely with technology program leaders and the Office of Agile
- Ensure adherence of all compliance and corporate governance policies throughout the implementation.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills to develop reports and clearly articulate challenges, progress and opportunities to multiple stakeholders (key stakeholders, executives)
- Manage diverse IT teams consisting of application engineers, designers, and outsourced vendors.
- Cross-functional collaboration to build and promote teamwork and propel value delivery
- Evangelize for autonomous, self-organizing, empowered, and continuously improving teams.
- Ensures development stories, acceptance criteria, assumptions, and all related documentation are timely and complete, supporting development, testing, and user acceptance activities.
- Travel to Synchrony and client locations as needed to Lead discovery sessions, project kick-off meetings, work-out sessions, etc.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of IT experience or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma / GED and 7 years of Product / Project Management experience in the credit card, financial services, or technology industries
- 4 years Product / Project Management experience in the credit card, financial services, or technology industries
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and Infrastructure as a code (Terraform)
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices (IAM, Encryption, etc)
- Knowledge of Cloud Network and RDS, Event Streaming & Caching services
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Action oriented – create an environment to leverage agile methodology and deliver continuous benefit to the business teams during the project
- Proven experience in problem solving and negotiated solutions
- Ability to travel

- Credit card, consumer finance, payments, financial services, or retail services industry experience.
- Solid communications, relationship building, and collaboration skills.

- Knowledgeable on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies, and companies technical knowledge (financial services) customer experience focus Proactive, self-starter and collaborative leader
- Experience managing offshore resources, organizing and motivating diverse cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen and superior decision-making skills
- Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization.
- Familiarity with data encryption/PII data protection standards, and related technologies.
- Facilitate product demos in the Developer's forums.
- Creativity, enthusiasm and energy with a strong customer "can do" attitude and result oriented.
- Lead development teams to achieve product roadmap deliverables of cutting-edge enterprise solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that monitors and remediates anomalies in SYF cloud infrastructure.
- Exercise close partnering with Synchrony’s internal compliance teams to adhere to the company’s development and release processes.
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
