Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Executive Protection (EP) Specialist will be part of Synchrony’s Executive Protection Team that is responsible for providing personnel security and safety for Synchrony’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This will be done through a collaborative effort with the Operations and Logistical Planning, and Intelligence and Investigations Teams. The VP, EP will assist in conducting threat assessments, develop comprehensive protection plans, execute on the protection plans to include conducting advanced security reviews and executing the protective security during domestic and international travel.
This role will primarily be based in Fairfield County, CT.
Essential Responsibilities:
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

The VP, EP will assist in conducting threat assessments, develop comprehensive protection plans, execute on the protection plans to include conducting advanced security reviews and executing the protective security during domestic and international travel.
This role will primarily be based in Fairfield County, CT.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Threat Assessment and Risk Mitigation: Utilizing in-depth risk assessments and intelligence, identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and security gaps, developing and implementing proactive security protection strategies to address them.
- Protection Detail: Provide physical security to the executive through preparation, detection and response to passive and active threats. Includes coordination with event and destination security, close monitoring of the client's surroundings to ensure a protective perimeter, and intervening in any suspicious or threatening situations.
- Surveillance Detection: Actively identifying and tracking potential surveillance efforts, maintaining awareness of surroundings to detect suspicious activity.
- Travel Security: Planning and coordinating secure travel arrangements, including route planning, advance security checks of locations, and managing transportation logistics.
- Event Security: Assessing and securing event venues, managing access control, coordinating with local security personnel, identifying safe ingress and egress and ensuring client safety during public appearances.
- Incident Response: Reacting swiftly and effectively to any security incidents, coordinating with emergency services if necessary, and de-escalating tense situations.
- Liaison and Communication: Maintaining open communication with client/event security teams, law enforcement, Synchrony contracted security and other relevant stakeholders.
- Physical Fitness and Firearms Proficiency: Maintaining a high level of physical fitness and proficiency with firearms, as required by regulations and specific situations.
- Other Responsibilities as deemed necessary to the security mission.
- Minimum 10 years prior law enforcement, with an emphasis on protective security, with HR218 designation; or 10 years’ experience in protective security operations, corporate, military, and/or law enforcement with the ability to legally carry a weapon domestically
- Proven ability to conduct EP related threat assessments and risk analysis, as well as execute EP engagements. .
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent observational and situational awareness skills
- Advanced driving skills and defensive driving techniques
- Proficiency in discreet surveillance practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with C suite level executives.
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to travel 50% of time
- Must possess, or be willing and able to achieve, armed guard certifications, as required by jurisdiction
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must possess, or be willing and able to acquire, a US passport

Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
